5. The cause for the canonization of Father Vincent Capodanno, a Staten Island native who ministered in the mountains of Taiwan before becoming a chaplain in the United States Marine Corps, was opened in 2006. Judy McCloskey, who is the postulator for Father Vincent’s cause, also founded Catholic Mil, an organization that serves members of the United States Armed Forces who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. Frank Tenaglia is a Philadelphia tenor who was healed of hydrocephalus and loss of hearing as a small boy through the prayers of Padre Pio after his father made a visit to the stigmatic saint in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy.
